Ferguson’s Women in Trade Sweepstakes is a beautifully designed microexperience aimed to celebrate, reward, and inspire women working in skilled trades.
Ferguson is a leading distributor in North America, providing expertise, solutions, and products for the plumbing, HVAC, fire, fabrication, and infrastructure industries. Ferguson’s purpose is to help make complex projects simple, successful, and sustainable, all while putting relationship and community building at the forefront of everything they do.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, Ferguson launched the Women in Trade Sweepstakes to honor women working in the skilled trades and reward them for sharing their stories. Of the 165 million people working in the trades, women make up only 250,000 - less than 4%. There is an urgent need for a skilled workforce and Ferguson wants to showcase the ample opportunities for women to advance in these careers.
The Women in Trades campaign encourages participants to “be the inspiration” and submit their stories of how they entered the trade and became successful. In exchange, participants are entered into a drawing where they can win a prize package sponsored by Milwaukee Tools.
Experience the sweepstakes yourself here.
Entry into the sweepstakes requires standard form fields (ie. email, zip code, open text responses) with built-in validation, as well as a photo upload.
Participants are also asked to identify their industry interest(s) in order to receive more relevant emails. This is a great example of “value exchange” - one of the main principles of zero-party data collection.
After submitting the form, participants are routed to a thank you page that links to relevant educational content.
Lastly, built-in sharing buttons make it easy for participants to invite other women to share their story for a chance to win.
